| Inquiry-led Learning
Inquiry-led learning refers to "question-driven learning" rather than the predominant model found in schools of "answers first then questions".
The approach encourages students to take more responsibility for:
- determining what they need to learn
- identifying the relevant resources and deciding how best to use them
- assessing their own progress in learning
Everyone at Sustained Success is passionate about inquiry-led learning. Indeed, this phrase pretty well covers most of the work we do in schools. Based on our many years experience as teachers, coordinators, headteachers, trainers and consultants, we have found the following benefits of inquiry-led learning
- Students take more responsibility for their own learning
- The classroom becomes more a climate for inquiry, research and curiosity and less of a test-driven culture
- Exam results improve because students learn how to learn so that learning is not restricted to time in the classroom
- Everyone involved develops their library, interview, web-search and critical thinking skills
- The questioning skills of students, teachers and parents improve over time
