About Sustained Success

Sustained Success was started by James Nottingham in 2005. Based in Northumberland, the company has expanded to include 12 associates, hundreds of partner schools and many significant projects around the world.

Fundamental to our approach is the notion of educere. This draws out the best ideas from individual contexts, ensuring tailor-made, inspirational learning. This, together with on-going support and coaching, achieves sustained success for all of our partners.

An Overview of Our Services

Bespoke training
We offer accredited courses, demonstration lessons, full day, half day and twilight training sessions in many areas of expertise, including: outstanding teaching, P4C, creativity and innovation, critical thinking, leadership, SEAL, self esteem, student voice and community engagement.

Consultancy
Sometimes a one-off intervention is not enough and your schools requires dedicated expertise over a longer period of time. We work closely with senior leaders across the world to create sustained success and unleash potential. Read more

Events
We often organise outstanding events for education groups. Previously, we have hosted Prof. Art Costa (author of Habits of Mind), John Edwards (award-winning researcher from Australia), Bill Martin (award-winning Headteacher from the USA), and Galina Dolya (Vygotskian Expert). This year we will be hosting Professor Carol Dweck, author of Self Theories and Mindset. Click here for more details

Both James Nottingham and Martin Renton have well-earned reputations as an inspirational and charismatic speakers. They are sought after across the world for conferences aimed at Headteachers, middle leaders, teachers, parents, governors, support staff and community groups. Online Learning
As a learning organisation, we seek to grow and share our expertise using new technologies. So far, we have an Challenging Learning blog, a downloads page on this website, and James is the co-director of p4c.com, an online resource and collaboration site for P4C.

Parents' Workshops
A much-appreciated aspect of our service is the parent workshops we offer all schools we're working with. Topics range from supporting your child's learning to developing self-esteem and confidence.

Study Trips
We regularly organise study trips for UK colleagues to visit the Nordic schools we work with, and vice versa, as well as put schools from around the world in touch with each other.
