Raise aspirations and achievements with a Creative Curriculum
Creativity is developed by making unusual connections and challenging the rules. Creativity isn’t a gift 'given' to a few; it can be developed in everyone and can be taught by people with no so-called natural flair for music or the arts.
The Sustained Success team are in an outstanding position to help you develop creativity and/or a creative curriculum. Within our team we have:
- James Nottingham, our director, who has trained with Prof Edward de Bono (creator of Lateral Thinking) at the University of Malta, and is a senior Philosophy for Children trainer, an approach that develops creative, critical, caring and collaborative thinking.
- Gordon Poad, one of our close associates, who has been a drama and creativity practitioner for more than 15 years. He has his own theatre company, advises on many Creative Partnership projects, has worked alongside Dorothy Heathcote (creator of Mantle of the Expert), and together with James created the acclaimed Dramatic Enquiry, an approach to inquiry-led learning that fuses together drama and P4C
- Mark Labrow, another of our close associates, whose full-time work centres on cross curricular learning, helping schools to develop their own creative curriculum and on finding new ways to engage and inspire pupils in the classroom. Mark has a new book coming out in Oct 09 entitled "Drama Games and Creative Activities for the Classroom"
Together, these three wise monkeys can help you with:
- Planning and designing a creative curriculum
- Developing the creative skills of your students
- Helping you to design, and find funding for, a creativity project
- Outstanding INSET tailor-made to help your staff understand the PLTS, creativity and/or innovation agendas
